There are several specific case for iPAQ that are currently on the market.
Many people choose not to use them or to use a generic PDA case that
usually cost slightly less. In this review, I'll try to show you why
you should consider the Vaja cases for your PocketPC, Palm or even laptop!
Vaja offers very specific products for each PDA, and in the case of
the iPAQ, for each Expansion Packs.

The
product:
I started to use the iPAQ in August last year, and at that time
there really wasn't any case specific for this model. I had to wait
several month to get my hand on an EB case. Though the case was
nice, I later discovered the quality of the Vaja products.

I
ordered my Vaja late may and received it beginning of June (the model
I wanted was back ordered). My first impression when I opened the
package was wow!!!! That's a nice box! Call me crazy but the box in
which the case is shipped is a beauty compared to any other products
that I received! And yes I did keep it! :)
Next was the case. I ordered the Black Ostrich Pattern case with belt
clip.

After
using the case for a little over a month now, I can share my opinion
on the great product! The construction is excellent, the stitching
is of a great quality.

The
belt-clip works perfectly and will securely hold you PocketPC close
to you. I'm not afraid of wearing my iPAQ attached to my belt, even
in the crowded NYC subway!
The interior of the case is padded front and back to protect your
PocketPC even more (god forbid, I have dropped mine several times
already, but it's still as it was the day I got it, thanks to my Vaja).
The interior of the case is also "engraved" which give it
a pretty nice tough!
The quality of the leather is also exceptional.
But
that's not all! They say that their case will let you sync your PPC!!
Does that really work?
Yes, the case will precisely fit your iPAQ and you will be able to
access absolutely every functions of your PocketPC (but the power
door, which makes it even better!). You can soft reset the device,
record memos, and even plug-in your head phones without opening the
case!!!

My
case came with snap closure, which I do like better than the magnetic
version. The reason being is that the magnetic Vajas are slightly
heavier but do work well, though I'd rather get total protection,
especially when walking in the crowds!!!
The synchronization can be a problem, especially when you first get
your unit. It needs some time to take the shape of you PDA, and you
will need to push it well into the cradle in order to achieve a connection.
I thought about this, and in order to make the connection a little
easier, I did a 10 minutes mod to my cradles so that the USB connector
is slightly higher, and will compensate for the thickness of the case!
Check it out under Tips and Tricks!
As a Stowaway user, I also noticed some minor connection problems
with the foldable keyboard. The quick fit was to cut a little indent
on each side of the connector opening so that the Stowaway connector
can be properly secured! It's really not a big deal, especially if
you don't have to move it around too much!

Conclusion:
I have to say that the Vaja is an amazing product, especially
after having a EB case for several months. With the EB case, you
had to first open the zipper, and then pull it apart so that the
PocketPC could be slid into the cradle! It was such a pain in
the neck that I never used that case! Also forget it if you wanted
to use a Stowaway, you would have had to remove the iPAQ from
the case! Same goes for many, not to say all of the other case
specially designed for iPAQ! The Vaja is the best iPAQ case currently
available but it comes at a price! Don't be cheap, get what will
best protect your mobile companion, get a Vaja (and not they didn't
pay me to say that, as a matter of fact I even paid to get my
case!!!!! I simply love it!).
