Snood for Pocket PC For those not familiar with the game, Snood isn't just a game but a state of mind. The game that was introduced awhile back on PC platform is now available thanks to the great porting work of Pocket Innovations.
Snood
is a puzzle like game where you'll need to make all the "snoods"
on the screen disappear (or "bring them off the field). Matching
3 or more snoods will make them explode from the pack (and come down
the screen) but if other snoods are attached to them (and to only those
you target) you will be able to make combos and eliminate more snoods
at once. Combos also help reduce the Danger Level (depending on how
many snoods you saved with the combo). Once the Danger Level completely
fills (bottom of the game screen), your snoods will drop from one snood
size, making it hard to aim. The game is over if you fail to save the
snoods once the screen is filled (a la Tetris).
The game itself can seem boring though achieving higher and higher scores can be a real challenge (and even though it might look plain, believe me the game is fantastic). Snood has been especially popular among the college student crowd. After visiting some friends of mine at UMass Amherst I was introduced to Snood. When I returned, I immediately downloaded Snood for my desktop, before even checking my emails. I then spent hours playing the simple but immensely addictive game!
A couple
of months ago, Pocket Innovasion ported the popular desktop application
to the Pocket PC. The Pocket PC version of Snood truly compares to its
desktop brother with many (if not all) available options. You'll be
able to set the difficulty level, as well as the type of game you'd
like to play (Puzzle or Journey) and even configure the hardware buttons
on your PPC. The latest version of Snood also adds some new input features
with the Stylus.
The
amazing replay value in addition to a great price makes Snood one of
the best gaming application currently available.
Finally I'd like to thank Brian Palmer from Pocket Innovations for sending me a copy of the game for the review. Keep up with the great work. |
